Weekly Pool Care

You should test your pool water at least once a week sometimes twice, depending on the bather load and the amount of rain.

Weekly Maintenance:

1. Test Chlorine – your free and total chlorine should both be between 1-3 ppm.
   
2. Test Alkalinity
   
3. Test pH
   
4. Add of JoPa Algaecide to prevent the growth of algae.
   
5. Add of JoPa Stain and Scale to prevent staining and scaling.
   
6. Check and clean out skimmer and filter baskets.
   
7. Check pressure of filter. If high then run backwash.

Backwashing Method:

1. Shut off pump and water filter system.
   
2. Backwash filter for the number of times recommended by the filter manufacturer.
